Park Assist Launches Parking at UCSD’s Living and Learning Center into the Future
LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA – January 8th, 2020 – Park Assist® has been selected to install its M4 Parking Guidance System (PGS) at the University of California San Diego’s newly constructed Living and Learning Campus. Referred to as UCSD, this public university located in La Jolla, California, is working to create a live, learn, play environment over the course of the next few years. The 1.6 million-square-foot Living and Learning center is one of UCSD’s new construction projects aimed at this goal. The community will hold student housing, retail space, and academic buildings. As the campus continues to evolve, the need for efficient and safe parking options for students and staff has become increasingly important; Park Assist’s leading-edge camera-based smart-sensor system will serve this initiative.
As UCSD strives to implement smart parking solutions across the campus, installing Park Assist’s M4 technology is a leap toward this future. Prior to the Living and Learning facility, Park Assist was contracted by UCSD to install its M4 system at the Osler garage which was met with resoundingly positive customer feedback. Due to its success and reputation as an industry leader, Park Assist was UCSD’s clear provider of choice for the Living and Learning garage’s new guidance system.
Park Assist’s M4 technology will use color-coded smart-sensors that guide drivers to vacant spaces, allowing for reduced search and park times and decreased traffic congestion. In addition, UCSD will offer visitors the exclusive Find Your Car™ feature where they can locate their vehicle upon reentry to the garage by entering all or part of their license plate numbers into a Park Assist system which will then guide them to the correct car.
The university will also utilize Park Assist’s Park Alerts™ module to help increase garage productivity and enhance security and safety. This software extension will allow UCSD to set automated rules and alerts and notify parking compliance staff of any parking policy violations.
“We are thrilled to be back working with UCSD on this important new campus addition. UCSD has always been known for innovation and we are proud that the M4 system was chosen to be a part of its initiative to implement campus-wide smart parking.” – Will Cai, Account Manager.
Site work is set to begin in Q1 2020 and is projected for completion by Q3.
