Bradley International Airport to Feature Smart Parking Guidance Technology in Recently Completed Ground Transportation Center
Cheshire, CT – September 10, 2024 – As New England’s second-largest airport, Bradley International Airport (BDL) stands as a beacon of excellence in the aviation industry, consistently recognized for its outstanding service and operational efficiency. We’re excited to announce that BDL has selected TKH Security as a partner in parking guidance, building on our legacy of delivering cutting-edge solutions to premier clients.
Bradley International Airport continues to expand its services, now offering more than 45+ nonstop destinations through 12 airlines, with 6.2 million passengers traveling through its terminals in 2023 alone. The airport has also been ranked as the second-best airport in the United States, a testament to its focus on improving customer experience and delivering high-quality services.
As BDL continues to grow and serve an expanding passenger base, the airport’s administration along with the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) is focusing heavily on transportation improvements. From the implementation of a concierge service for passengers to the addition of Ground Transportation Center and so much more, BDL is hard at work turning their passenger-centric vision into a reality.
TKH Security is proud to contribute to the airport’s mission by ensuring its parking facilities meet the highest standards of efficiency and convenience. Our innovative Park Assist solution will monitor 4,228 spaces across two garages and one surface lot (roughly 75% covered and 25% uncovered.)
“Partnering with Bradley International Airport is an exciting opportunity for TKH Security to support one of the nation’s top airports in its mission to enhance the passenger experience. With our innovative Park Assist Solution, we aim to help BDL maximize its parking efficiency and convenience, contributing to the airport’s continued growth and reputation for excellence,” said Coley Nash, Regional Sales Executive, Northeast.
The foundation of Bradley International Airport’s automated parking guidance system lies in the camera-equipped M5 smart sensor. Each M5 sensor features two CMOS digital cameras that can oversee up to six parking spots (three on either side) from above the driving lanes. With an accuracy rate exceeding 99%, the M5 sensor is enhanced with a customizable full-spectrum RGB LED indicator, providing thousands of color choices to denote occupancy, various parking types, and more. This system streamlines traffic and eases congestion within parking facilities, cutting the time to park by as much as 63%.
BDL’s automated parking guidance system (APGS) package also includes:
- LCD-NAV, an advanced outdoor display, offering real-time customizable updates to effectively communicate with drivers and improve parking guidance,
- Park Finder, helping travelers quickly locate parked vehicles,
- Park Alerts, utilizing built-in license plate recognition (LPR) to promptly notify parking management of vehicles in restricted areas or those exceeding time limits,
- Park Surveillance, enhancing facility safety and security by providing operators with 24/7 HD streaming video and the capability to store recordings for up to 90 days,
- INX-Core software suite, delivering both real-time and historical data while giving operators a comprehensive view of the structure’s performance, and
- Business Development+ API to boost revenue and profitability by enabling tiered, reserved, and permit parking, as well as detailed analysis or parker behavior and preferences.
TKH Security is grateful for the cooperation of the Connecticut Airport Authority on this project which is expected to be completed by Q3 of 2025.
