ASML to Enhance Parking Solutions at San Diego Facility
Cheshire, CT – January 7, 2024 – ASM Lithography, commonly referred to as ASML, leads the semiconductor industry and is renowned for pioneering the most advanced lithography system used in microchip manufacturing. The company’s drive for innovation has led to incredible technological advancements, including achievements and leadership in EUV (extreme ultraviolet) lithography. For their extensive work with EUV, ASML was awarded the SEMI Americas Award in 2020 and the Dutch Innovation Award in 2021. Recognized for their extensive R&D investment—€3.3 billion in 2022 alone—ASML consistently pushes the boundaries of what is possible in microchip technology.
ASML has chosen to collaborate with TKH Security to bring a comprehensive parking management solution to their San Diego, California facility. This partnership reflects ASML’s commitment to excellence and innovation in every aspect of their infrastructure.
Through this project, TKH Security’s Park Assist Solution, an automated parking guidance system (APGS), will provide parking guidance for a five-floor parking structure housing 502 spaces. With the integration of this new smart parking system, employees and visitors alike will enjoy reduced traffic congestion and reduced time to find an available parking space (up to 63% faster) while facility managers enjoy advances in operational efficiency and oversight.
Kevin Austin, Regional Sales Director, West Coast, shared his enthusiasm: “Partnering with an industry leader like ASML highlights the value of our tailored parking solutions. We’re excited to deliver a system that aligns with their vision of excellence and efficiency.”
At the core of ASML’s enhanced parking guidance system is the M5 smart sensor, a state-of-the-art solution designed to streamline parking operations while delivering real-time monitoring. Equipped with dual CMOS digital cameras, each M5 sensor can oversee up to six parking spaces simultaneously, providing comprehensive coverage from above the driving lanes. With a precision rate exceeding 99%, this sensor ensures reliable performance and integrates a dynamic RGB LED lighting system. This customizable lighting feature offers a spectrum of color options to signal parking availability, designated areas, and more, creating a seamless experience for drivers navigating the garage.
Complementing the M5 sensors is a suite of cutting-edge solutions, including:
- Park Alerts – utilizes license plate recognition (LPR) to help operators manage parking activities by providing automated notifications for rule enforcement, such as detecting VIP vehicles or those parked in restricted or overstayed spaces, and
- INX-Core software – provides both real-time and historical analytics, this software empowers operators with actionable insights into parking patterns and system performance.
The project is expected to reach completion by 2025 Q2.
